Third party cookies
Beyond our own storage, two third parties can set cookies when you load a page. Google Analytics sets a measurement cookie that lets us see which review sections readers finish and which they skip. Cloudflare, which serves these pages, sets a short-lived cookie to tell its own servers apart during a page load. Neither cookie contains your name, email, or any payment detail. If you decline the analytics banner, the Google cookie is not set at all. Affiliate click-throughs to Card Crush are routed through the operator's tracker, which sets its own cookie on the operator's domain, not on ours.
How to manage
Every modern browser lets you review and delete cookies from the settings menu. In Chrome and Edge it is under Privacy and Security; in Safari it is under Advanced; in Firefox it is under Cookies and Site Data. You can also change your mind on the banner: open the cookie-settings link in the footer and switch analytics off. Doing so removes the Google cookie on your next page load. Private or incognito windows start with a clean cookie jar and clear it when you close the tab, which is a quick way to visit without storing anything long-term.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a site writes to your browser so the server can tell your visits apart. Cookies have a name, a value, a domain and a lifetime: when the lifetime ends, the browser deletes the file automatically. We never put payment details, passwords, or anything that identifies you by name into a cookie, because the file is readable by the browser and would travel with any backup of your profile. Cookies are different from local storage: a cookie goes back to the server on every request, while local storage stays on your device.
Which we use
card-crush.net sets one strictly necessary cookie called cc_consent, which stores your choice on the cookie banner for twelve months so you are not asked again on every page. If you accept analytics, we also use the three Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*, _gid) with lifetimes between twenty-four hours and two years. There are no advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no cross-site identifiers. The up-to-date list is in the cookie-settings panel linked from the footer.
Changes
If we add or remove a cookie we update this page and reset the banner so returning readers see the choice again. Material changes are also noted in a short line at the top of the policy for thirty days. We do not back-date the policy to a previous visit, so the version that applies to you is the one that was live when you accepted the banner.
